INTERVIEWS with CHARLES SHAMBRY: Ricardo Hernandez is a multidisciplinary real estate expert with over 30 years of experience in the industry. His expertise spans design, financing, negotiations, deal structuring, acquisitions, dispositions, evaluating development opportunities, financial modeling, and market research across all types of real estate properties.
Before becoming a Real Estate Developer, Mr. Hernandez served as Vice President of Real Estate at Mercantil Commercebank N.A., Special Assets Division (now Amerant). In his final years with the bank, he managed OREO properties and note portfolio dispositions, successfully selling over $200 million in assets.
Mr. Hernandez is currently the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Founder of Family First Realty Group LLC, leading the firm with his extensive real estate knowledge and experience.
He holds a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from Columbia University, a Master’s Degree in Project Management, and a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture. His professional education also includes advanced courses at the MIT Center for Real Estate and the Urban Land Institute (ULI).
