Kay Bess, voice of the La Sirena ships computer on Star Trek: Picard is the guest this week. Bess is the voice on some of the biggest sci-fi franchises, video games, animation, and beyond. Star Trek: Bridge Crew video game and talks about her start in college training in The School of Dramatic Arts BFA Acting Program at The University of Southern California and studying Philosophy at UCLA. Having narrated the hit HGTV's Property Brothers for the first four seasons, Kay Bess has a full circle telling story on how she met the twin brothers Drew and Jonathan Scott the first time. Kay talks about being a part of Star Trek, her audition, and carrying on the legacy from Majel Barret-Roddenberry positive words for Discovery's computer voice Julianne Grossman, plus receiving scripts for Star Trek: Picard. Bess further articulates her delivery style and direction she received for voicing the La Serena computer. Bryan asks Bess about the Star Trek: Picard series being filmed in Santa Clarita California being nearby for Kay, who voiced in a Burbank studio, but quickly had to take equipment from the Burbank studios home during the COVID Pandemic.
